July has been an exceptionally busy month for us.T In the ParkThe Reliant Robin has now served its purpose at T In the Park and was returned to us for resale. It went on ebay and fetched a huge amount of interest. It was eventually bought by a Glasgow businessman who is buying a number of these cars for advertising purposes around the City.Gary Tank CommanderWe received a frantic phone call from the BBC comedy unit who are filming the latest series of Gary Tank Commander and they didnt have a tank We were able to pull out the stops and have provided one plus a low loader truck to transport it.Photo ShootsWeve also been involved in a couple of photo shoots around Scotland involving classic vehicles. The AwakeningTwo early twenties Crossleys were out in Edinburgh on 22nd. July for the film The Awakening. The location was St. Bernards Crescent in the Stockbridge area.
Things have been very busy for us over the last couple of months. In late May we completed the BBC 3 production of Hattie where we supplied a number of period vehicles including 3 Mk1 Ford Cortinas for a Carry on Cabbie scene. We have also just completed work on a feature film called laid Off which was filmed on location in Saltcoats Johnstone and Glasgow.
During the last couple of months we have been working on a major new BBC drama which is in production in Scotland. The main character played by David Tennant rides a motorcycle and Action Vehicle Agency have sourced and supplied a rather tasty Triumph Bonneville T100.We are also sourcing period vehicles and caravans for another BBC production about to start filming in Scotland. If you have a late fiftiesearly sixties caravan dont hesitate to get in touch.THERES BEEN A MURDERAction Vehicle Agency are delighted to announce that they have been chosen as action vehicle coordinators for the next seaon of the popular STV programme Taggart which has just gone into production in Scotland. This is a slight departure for us in so much as we are dealing with modern day vehicles but it is a great opportunity and shows the reputation we have built up over the last few years. Filming will continue until August.

MARCH 2010

First of all apologies for a technical hitch on the website which means that the text on the gallery images cant be read. It is there but for some reason it has changed to a lighter colour which makes it illegible. Ive spoken to the web host who tells me that this is due to an update causing the problem on a few sites. Im not too happy about it as it means I have to go through all of the images manually and update them. Oh wellIn February we sourced a lobster fishing boat at Dunbar Harbour East Lothian and assisted in the making of a corporate video for The Bank of Scotland. I also got a part in the video posing as a local fisherman with financial problems nothing new there then. This month we have ventured south of the border and assisted with a production currently filming in Newcastle. It is a feature length drama for ITV called Joe Maddisons War and set in World War II. It will star Robson Green and Kevin Whateley and Action Vehicle Agency were pleased to assist in supplying militar...

We hope that everyone had a great festive season and the recent inclement weather didnt cause too many problems. Lets hope we get a decent spring and summer and we can get the classics out in force.Just before Christmas we purchased a 1971 Triumph Spitfire Mk4. Its had some restoration work and benefits from overdrive hard top and is tax free. Unfortunately the weather hasnt been favourable but weve managed to get it out a few times and it performs very well. Havent decided yet whether to keep it or sell it on. If youre interested please get in touch we may be persuadedNorman Harvey who most of you will probably remember used to supply vehicles for filming is now well and truly retired. He is passing his time painting and helping with a charity in Tanzania. Norman worked on many well known productions such as Monarch of the Glen Doctor Finlays Casebook and The Magdalene Sisters to name but a few. Norman got in touch recently and we have now purchased a number of props from him includin...

Weve just finished working on a production called Day of the Flowers. A bit of a departure for the agency as its set in modern day and involved a number of upmarket luxury vehicles as well as 2 Mini Coopers and a moped. One of the Minis and the moped were involved in a stunt in Glasgow city centre on a busy Friday afternoon which brought the area to a bit of a standstill

Thanks to all of you who have got in touch recently and I will be getting to work updating the site. The French production is going well. We had 14 cars and a London bus out in Edinburgh last week and it made a pretty impressive site transforming a part of the new town back to 1962. That production finishes this weekend and then its straight into a film set in 1974 which goes into production in early July. We need well over 50 vehicles for that one and things are progressing well however if you have something that you may think is suitable then please get in touch.

Latest News

Sorry that I havent posted anything lately or updated the galleries but things have been extremely busy recently. We are currently working with a German production company who are filming a 3 hour drama in the Scottish borders and Edinburgh area. It is set in modern day but some of the more interesting vehicles involved are a 1977 Aston Martin V8 a Porsche Boxster and a Unimog snowploughImmediately after that we start work with a French production company who are making a film set in 1962. We are supplying well over 30 vehicles including taxis trucks and buses for that one.So 2009 has started off well and hopefully things will continue well for the rest of the year. Thanks to everyone who has got involved so far and I intend to get the website updated soon as we have a number of new vehicles to display.

STONE OF DESTINY

Just to let you all know that Stone of Destiny is released on DVD on 23rd. March. This was the first production that I was involved in and was filmed in Scotland during the summer of 2007. I was able to source and supply over 50 vehicles so even if you werent involved you will no doubt be able to spot one or two vehicles you know of as they were all Scottish based.Unfortunately it didnt do too well at the box office. It was however apparently quite successful in Canada where the director Charles Martin Smith is from.My wife and I were fortunate enough to get tickets for the premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival and I quite enjoyed it so Ill probably buy a copy of the DVD.A couple of things that I wasnt too happy about were the fact that they added modern day sirens to the soundtrack in the police car scenes. During filming I had quite a job trying to convince the director that police cars just didnt have blue lights and sirens in 1950. It wouldnt have been as bad if they just added a...

It had quite a short production run from 1955 until 1959 with just under 18000 being produced. These models are now quite rare. We would be prepared to buy if necessary.
The new website is now up and running as you can see and feedback so far has been very encouraging. I am aware that I need to carry out some fine tuning and I am working on that. I have also registered a new domain name www.actionvehicleagency.co.uk This will run in conjunction with Classic Coordination. The new name does what it says on the box but more importantly I think it will be easier to enter. I am looking for us much feedback as possible on the site so please feel free to contact me with any criticism you may have.

Update on 2008

2008 was my first full year in operation
In January I provided some modern vehicle for the BBC production of God on Trial. This was a one day job. The scene was supposed to be outside the Auschwitz Museum in Poland. Filming however took place just outside Glasgow. I supplied everyday vehicles such as a Citroen ZX Peugeot people carrier etc. One stipulation however was a Skoda and I was able to supply an original 1986 Skoda Estelle when did you last see one of those
I was asked if I could supply an Aston Martin DB5 and do the precision driving for an Aston Martin DBS Power Soul Beauty commercial which was being partly shot in Scotland for the Kuwaiti market. Early February saw us at the Rest amp be Thankful in Argyll for a days fiming with the cars. Aston Martin supplied the 2 new cars and I sourced the DB5. The director got what he came to Scotland for... Clear blue skies great dry roads and stunning snow capped hills although it was damned cold. Day 2 saw us at Kinloch Rannoch film...
